We had a big surprise at the Haven the other day!
This was very special but with a new baby comes new challenges for the Haven. It has been a difficult year for the Samui Elephant Haven with the effects of COVID resulting in next to no tourists on the island our income has been significantly reduced. All of our finances are currently going to feeding the herd. So we are reaching out to you to help build this family a home.
The rainy season is upon us and we urgently need to build an enclosure for mum and baby to keep them dry and safe. The baby is feeding hungrily and we need somewhere for Aom to nurse. Like any big brother, Perm Poon is overexcited and wants to play and push around his little sister. We want to keep them together, but with their own enclosures so that there are no accidental injuries. Although the little girl will have weighed almost 100kg at birth, she is still very fragile and unsteady on her little legs. All donations will go to building an emergency enclosure and then a proper family area for them which is full of enrichment.
