This place has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old, it’s the place where my grandmother and grandpa said I do, the place they made their own and created so many lasting friendships and shared so many memories with all of you. The community is the reason that the doors are still open and the many years of my grandparents love, banter, and laughter is what kept this place alive. They were quite literally the talk of the town for nearly 30 years. I still have people coming in telling me their stories of how they met Erika & Jeff. I love hearing each and every one. It’s honestly what has kept me going this far.
Some of you may have noticed that my emotions have been all over the place since Friday. We were sent a certified letter - a notice to foreclose on the property (by the 2nd lien) and there is not much I can do about it. This loan to my grandmother was made in 2006, and they have attached a 28.4% daily interest on top and have given us 10 days to pay. It still has a mortgage as well and with both of them combined - there is no way possible for me to make it make sense. I feel like I have done everything in my power to keep this place going for as long as I possibly can and my hands are literally tied at this point.
Our days at the Chuckwagon may be limited but we want to see each and every one of you as much as we can - for as long as we can. As of now, we are planning on being open until the last week of September/1st week of October. As it gets closer to time - I will post our official last day of business. If anything changes - we will let you all know.
Please come in and see us while you can. We need your support (now more than ever) in order to get our final expenses & monthly bills paid in full, and help provide some extra funds help to our staff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m going to miss this place but I’m going to miss the people the most. You all are the reason we are still here and we can’t thank you enough for your many years of continued support.
With love🙏🏼🤍
Amber & Brad, and the entire Chuckwagon staff
