The Hertzberg's are heading to Utah!
If you know us at all, you know we have a heart for sharing the true Jesus with the LDS community (Mormons). After engaging in local ministry to the LDS since 2018, as well as a trip to Salt Lake City in 2020, we have felt "Utah" on our mind and soul ever since. Mid May, we took a vision and prayer trip out to Utah in hopes that the Lord would provide clarity for our next steps. We believe He did just that. This trip connected us to a wonderful church, filled with like-minded believers, who have a passion for making His love and truth known. Though we felt clarity in our call to Utah, the challenge of finding affordable housing was a major concern. Once again, the Lord provided an open door. While we were there, we were able to find a HOME! We truly did not know that buying a home would be on the trip's agenda, but are so grateful the Lord made a way. Even with being self-funded (Cori and I both have remote jobs), the goal is for Cori to primarily still focus on the kids at home. But truthfully, the cost of living in Utah is much higher than Arkansas. If you want to pray and support us financially, any little bit will be appreciated, as it will help us create more margin and opportunity for ministry. You can do so with a one time gift, or monthly contribution. If you'd like to hear more, we'd love to share more. We are also very passionate about training and teaching about sharing one's faith with other religions.

So, why Mormons? I (Jesse) was first exposed to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2018, when two missionaries knocked on my door during my junior year of college. Though I was unaware of their beliefs at the time, it became very clear that, though we may share similar religious vocabulary, the definitions behind the vocabulary couldn't be more different. In fact, though the LDS Church claims to be "Christian", it rejects every core, and foundational belief, that is taught in Scripture. After meeting with these missionaries, I jumped in head first learning everything I possibly could about the LDS Church in order to be better prepared for my next interaction, if there ever was one. Little did I know, that over the next year, God would continue to pour gasoline on the fire He had started in me to share the gospel to the LDS community. Since that initial interaction with the missionaries in 2018, I have had the privilege of meeting with countless missionaries, a LDS Bishop for 2 years, and street evangelizing at Temple Square in Salt Lake City and Brigham Young University. I have also had the blessing of providing Christians training, in multiple settings, on how to best love and witness to their LDS friends and neighbors. Cori was by my side during all of this, and was quick to support and encourage me, and eventually, grow in the same love and desire to share the true Jesus for those in false religions. If you would like to know more about our story, or better yet, how to evangelize to the LDS, please let us know as it would be our greatest joy to assist however we can.
If you have made it this far, let us explain how Spotfund works. Essentially, we would love to raise $6000 minimum per year we are in Utah to help us create more margin and opportunity for ministry that requires finances. We have ideas on how to use this money, and will be sharing those details in our email chain you can join! (hertzbergsinutah@gmail.com) A few ideas are being able to open up our home to host mission teams, purchasing Christian books to gift to neighbors, neighborhood events, etc. Ideally, we would love this website to show that we want to raise a consistent monthly amount, but that is not how it works. If we hit our fundraiser goal of $6000, people can still donate, and please know that your money is still coming directly to us. Thanks so much!
