My name is Robert, and for the last year and a half, my family and I have been living through a nightmare. What started as a misdiagnosed leg injury in 2024 turned into a series of catastrophic medical errors, a severe bone infection, and 16 surgeries.
The Journey So Far:
After doctors repeatedly dismissed my pain, it was finally discovered that a metal rod in my leg had snapped, causing my leg to collapse. Despite a muscle flap procedure and a year of fighting to save the limb, my body has not been able to heal. The infection became entrenched, the skin grafts failed, and I have been unable to run my contracting business or provide for my family for over a year.
The Hardest Decision:
Recently, my medical team and I made the incredibly difficult choice to amputate my leg below the knee. While this is a devastating loss, I am choosing to see it as a new beginning.
Why I Need Your Help:
I am a father to a 3-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter. My girlfriend has been my rock, even losing her job to care for me and our children. My only goal is to get back to work and, more importantly, to be the active father my kids deserve.
A running prosthetic will cost $15,000, and I need to raise at least half of that to get started. We are also struggling to catch up on a year of mortgage payments to keep our home.
I am not ready to "lay it down" yet. I want to work, I want to play with my sons, and I want to provide stability for the woman who has played nurse for me for months.
Any donation, no matter how small, helps us move toward a life where I am back on my feet. Thank you for helping me find my way back to my family
