Hi, my name is Shimea.  I’ve always prided myself on working hard for everything I have—my home, my car, and my independence. Recently, my life took an unimaginable turn. I was shot in Atlanta. A traumatic event that has turned my world upside down.

The physical pain is immense, but the emotional toll is just as heavy. Now, I’m confined to my bed, unsure of how long my recovery will take, and facing the very real fear of losing it all.

The injuries I sustained have left me unable to walk or work, and every day has been a battle, both physically and emotionally. Without the ability to earn an income, I’m struggling to cover my housing costs, car payments, and basic necessities. Everything I worked so hard to build is at risk of being lost.

Every day feels like a race against time as bills pile up. I’m doing everything I can to hold onto the life I worked so hard to build, but I can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m turning to the kindness of others for help.
