Sadie's Story

Last month we discovered two lumps on either side of her breast. We took her in to see our Vet. It was suggested that a needle biopsy may not be accurate and a lumpectomy was suggested for the biopsy.  This procedure will run as much as $2000. Based upon the results we may be looking at an additional 2 to 3 surgeries and possible chemotherapy.

If she has breast cancer they will spay her to stop estrogen and then a full mastectomy removing each chain (one procedure for each side). This would increase the costs significantly $6,500 to $10,000 possibly more.

If I am able to raise these funds I will be able to take Sadie to an Oncologist which may give us more possible treatment options.

Sadie is smart, enthusiastic and loving. She is kind to people and dogs alike. Her joy brings joy to so many. For her we are all grateful and want to support her to the best of our abilities.

I am reminded of the proverb

" Many hands make light the work"

Sadie and I appreciate your consideration and support we are grateful.

Hi Friends of Sadie's,

I learned today that Sadie does in fact have cancer. I am devastated.

I am sitting in the grief of it right now and at the same time I am considering all possibilities.

There is an oncologist in Lafayette as well as UC Davis Vet School,  I am aware of a homeopathic vet in Montclair.

I am open to other suggestions so please feel free to reach out. Call or text me at 510 388-9840.

As far as the fund raiser goes I will need to raise more then the $6500.    I have heard it could be as much as or more then $10,000. Please consider sharing this post with your friends and families.

For the love of Sadie I thank you all, Morgan

Hello Everyone ,

Checking in with all of you to let you know the status on Sadie. I still have not heard back on her biopsy. I'm hoping that I'll hear from them today. It's been 2 weeks (holidays slowed things down.)When speaking with the vet he did say they were not fatty tumors. So we have to wait for the biopsy to know if it's benign or not. Praying for that.

I want to let you know that the main thing going on with Sadie has been wound care.  We have returned to the vets twice. I believe we finally figured out what is the right procedure for her. Which is cleaning the wounds with the soap that they use before surgery and then applying a Silver Sulfur cream it's the same cream they use for burn patients. This has helped.  She does still have oozing and some infection.  I believe when the stitches come out some of that will heal up and go away. For now keeping her calm and clean is the plan.

Again I just want to thank everyone for helping. It has been such a relief that when I needed to take her into the vets  I could without the concerns of cost and to buy whatever she needed. My not having to worry about costs and just focus on taking care of her has been a huge relief and blessing.

I hope this holiday season has blessed all of you with

Love, Happiness, and a New Year full of promise.

With Great Appreciation,

Morgan

Hi Everyone,

Well yesterday was Sadie's surgery and she made it through very well. She's very quiet and sleepy today. I will be hearing from the doctor next week as to the results of the biopsy. For now we are chilling at home.

Thank you all for making this possible.

This Friday Sadie will have Surgery. Please envision her Physicians as razor sharp that day and Sadie coming out of the procedure with clean Margins around the tumors with a great prognosis.

Thanks everyone,

Morgan
