I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but my family and I are facing eviction right before Christmas, and we desperately need help.
We are trying to raise $3,600 to cover our rent and keep a roof over our heads so our children are not homeless during the holidays.
My spouse and I have three boys — Alar, Njal, and Garik — and they are our entire world. We have always paid our rent and believed we were fully up to date. Unfortunately, our rental company recently switched from written payment records to a digital portal, and during that transition, they claim that the last three months of rent are missing.
We paid using money orders, and despite searching everywhere, we cannot find the receipts to prove it. Without written proof, we are being told we must repay the balance or face eviction. We are completely devastated.
We have no family or friends who can take us in, and if we cannot come up with this amount, we will lose our home right at Christmas. The thought of our boys not having a safe place to sleep during the holidays is terrifying.
