I’ve spent 28 years in construction, but a recent (mid-December) van wreck (along with a continued stream of misfortune) has put my livelihood on the line. I have a hard deadline of January 15th to make my van payment or I risk losing my vehicle and facing bankruptcy.
My van is my office and my toolbox. Without it, I can’t get to the job site to finish my obligations and earn my way out of this hole. I’m raising $4,000 to cover the immediate $560 payment, $2,000 in wreck repairs, and overdue business and living expenses (phone/insurance/ power/water/food) that have been snowballing while the van has been down.
I am a widowed father of 2 and worker (Carpenter/Super) who just needs a bridge to get back into the field. Any help before the 15th will literally keep me in business and off the streets. After losing their mother 18 months ago and living in a van for 5 months, my children need the security of a home and warm meals.
On top of the $2,000 in repairs and the $560 van payment due by the 15th, the shop is telling me it will take at least 2 weeks to fix the wreck. That is 14 days or more where I cannot earn a dime. I am trying to raise $4,000 to cover the bills and ensure my boys have food on the table while I’m off the road. I’ve worked 28 years to never have to ask for help, but I’m doing it now for my kids.
