Welcome to The Belvedere House, step back to 1918 when this house was built for a prominent Ship Captain and his wife who during a time when wives stayed home became his First mate on his ship helping with a business that was dangerous for all; rum running. This house is chock full of historic charm and many a stories of the past, please help bring it back to its former glory with a little modern touches. Unfortunately, when buying this home the inspector never told me that anything was wrong with this house but once starting to make this a home I have come to find out he was very very wrong about everything. My windows are original 1918 windows with the original glass and window weights but that also means there is no seals like modern windows to keep out any draft, dust, and insects. I was also told that my heating and air was solid and recently worked on but it has stopped working and I have looked at it and cannot believe that it could have ever really functioned for a considerable time other than to get it through "inspection". I am now starting to have plumbing and small electrical problems out of nowhere. I am just trying to make my house functional and livable with normal windows to keep me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Along with having heating and air conditioning so that I can actually have a home and not just own a house. I am just asking for some help of kind strangers so I don't have to struggle through the winters and summertime.
I greatly appreciate everyone's help or just sharing my cause.
Thank you
