My name is Cristena, and I'm originally form Chicago. I am a young black queer woman, and I'm currently experiencing job instability and possible housing instability. Recently, I lost my job with minimal savings. I lost my full-time job in April, and I had just enough to cover April's rent. As of right now, I do not have May's rent secured.
On May 1st, I received a notice from my landlord. This notice is a termination of my current lease, and gives me 120 days to vacate the property. This is contingent upon me paying the full amount I owe within a reasonable time, late fees, etc. If the rent is not paid or the balance is not decreased significantly, my landlord can proceed with actual eviction.
I am very close to securing a full-time job, but I do need help in the meantime to stay in my apartment. I am asking for support to pay this month's rent, along with a partial or full amount of next month's (considering I have not secured a job yet). Along with these things, I am hoping to secure some money to help me move safely and efficiently. I appreciate all of the support. Anything you can offer means the world to me.
