TOMORROW January 5th 2023 my husband Hector has finally made tmit to the stage of getting a prosthesis fitted! Thia is a huge mile stone and one step closer to him gaining his independence back and in the future if needed meeting the requirements that UCLA requested of being fitted and being able to take a few steps. At this point we arent sure if he will need the lung transplant or not. He has been home for almost a month following his 2nd hospital admission and exceeding all odds. Please take a moment and pray, donate whatever your heart feels as well begin this next journey into his recovery. Because my husband originally had to have a below the knee amputation and do to lack of oxygen he will require a more extensive prosthesis to fit his now bove the knee amputation and will be a very painful process. We are looking ar about 50,000 to 70,000 roughly.
After you talk with a prosthetist about your condition, goals and health, a rough estimate can be prepared. A more exact estimate requires an evaluation appointment.Cost: prosthetic care varies depending on the level of amputation and componetry. Oftentimes it’s difficult to tell someone how much their prosthesis is going to cost without an in-person evaluation.

November 19th, 2024 will officially make 2 full years since I brought my husband home from the hospital where I re-lived a nightmare for 233 days & nights as my husband fought for his life, and had to relearn literally everything from squeezing his hands or moving them from sitting up, practicing standing, eating and drinking, practice breathing, learning to speak again, remembering he had a 9 month old baby at that time(bc his memory took a long time to come back) as well as come to the understanding his life isnt going to be the same if he lives through this turmoil.
