On March 22 I was scheduled to go to Delaware to visit my family who I hadn’t seen in 3 years. Instead I was overcome with a severe illness. I spent 8 days laying on the couch vomiting, thinking I had a stomach flu or food poisoning. On March 30th my rectum swelled up the size of a basket ball due to a perirectal abscess. The abscess ruptured and I felt as if I was going to die. I went to the hospital & found that I had internal bleeding & sepsis from the infection. I also developed a deadly flesh eating disease called necrotising fasciitis which started in the pelvic area and spread to my abdomen & my lower back. Since being in the hospital (4/1/22) I've undergone 8 surgeries, 5 of them on (4/2/22). Doctors say this will be a long road to recovery as I will need to be on antibiotics for months if not years to come. At the present moment I'm still in the hospital and haven't eaten since the 22nd of March. I am surviving on IV nutrition. God willing, I will only be hospitalized for a few more weeks.
I am asking for donations to help me recover from the financial losses I incurred during my hospital stay & to help with my medical costs. They say that the morbidity rate is 1 out of 3 for people with this diagnosis. I pray that I am not the one.
