I never imagined I would be writing a post like this, but I have learned that sometimes asking for help is the hardest and most important thing a parent can do.
I am starting this fundraiser to help raise $2,000 so my son can get the mental health treatment he desperately needs. After multiple suicide attempts and ongoing struggles with his mental health, I have spent countless hours searching for the right program — not just any program, but one that truly addresses what he is going through and gives him the best chance at healing.
I have found a program that I truly believe is the right fit for him. Unfortunately, it is not free, and the cost of getting the right mental health care can be overwhelming.
I have looked into state-funded options and other available resources, but many of them either do not meet his level of need, are too far away, or only provide a brief introduction to DBT skills. My son needs more than an 8-week program that just touches on coping skills. He needs the time, consistency, and support to truly learn and practice these skills.
This program is an 18-week intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program, which is one of the most effective treatments for teens struggling with suicidal thoughts, self-harm, emotional regulation, and overwhelming emotions.
DBT is not just about talking about problems — it teaches real-life skills. It helps teens learn how to manage intense emotions, handle crisis moments, improve relationships, make healthier decisions, and build a life worth living. These are skills he can carry with him long after the program ends.
As a mom, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to help my child. I have fought every step of the way to find him the support he needs, and I truly believe this program can give him the tools and guidance to move forward.
My son is more than his struggles and his hardest moments. He is a kid who deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and have a future.
If you are able to donate, share this fundraiser, or simply keep our family in your thoughts, it would mean more than you know. Every share helps, and every dollar brings us closer to getting him the care he needs.
Thank you for standing with us during one of the hardest times we have ever faced. ❤️
