Support the Elephants at Elephant Freedom via Trunks Up.
This project near Chiang Mai is home to a herd of 6 elephants, including mothers and their young. Visitors can be assured of witnessing some amazing interaction between the members of the herd as they play together.
Elephant Freedom was formed in cooperation with a Lanna Thai family who has lived and worked with elephants for two generations. The family is glad for the opportunity to transition away from elephant riding to a more evolved form of elephant tourism that provides a better life for the elephants. The herd includes adult elephants who used to labor in the logging industry and were later used for elephant riding. By visiting this project you are making it possible for these elephants to enjoy a more natural, peaceful life.
The Covid-19 coronavirus has caused severe challenges around the world and has placed extreme limitations on travel. As a result, Elephant Freedom has been temporarily closed. We are doing the very best that we can to properly care for the elephants at our project, but need your support. We understand that this is a difficult time for many people around the world and offer our heartfelt sympathy.
By supporting Elephant Freedom you are supporting ethical elephant tourism in Asia and helping to make projects like this sustainable so that they can continue to provide a better life for their elephants.
