My sister’s third baby has been a very sick little boy lately. The story begins with him having a high fever, for multiple days and a hospital that wouldn’t take her seriously. Her and her baby were transferred from our small town down to Indy where after a long waiting game they were finally told what’s going on with little man. His birthday is tomorrow (August 27th) and is spending it and the following days in the hospital.
While my sister is in the hospital with her son, dad is working hard to provide for his family, working not only his jobs but picking up my sisters shifts as well. The other 3 children are being taken care of by the family able to but more help would be appreciated.

After 4 long days of testing and waiting and more testing, we finally have some answers.
Colton has osteomyelitis. Staphylococcus in the bones of his spine, septic joints between the spine, and staph in the muscle next to his spine.
We have an awesome team of doctors working hard to figure out the perfect recipe of antibiotics and pain medication to make him feel better and heal. However, we are facing a long road of very long drives after an extended hospital stay. Our friends and families have been very helpful so far but of course our journey is just starting.
