My name is Hope, and I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea on behalf of my amazing sister, Candi. She is bravely facing stage 3 cancer, and her battle has recently intensified. Despite enduring the tumult of fighting insurance for a powered wheelchair and purchasing essential items herself—with the help of family—there's still a significant gap we need to bridge.

Candi was finally approved for the powerchair she urgently needs, but the struggle didn't end there. Unfortunately, insurance won't cover the ramps required to use it effectively. The powerchair is far too heavy to manage without these ramps, leaving her unable to navigate even her own front steps or to enter her van.

As she prepares to embark on a daunting new chapter in her fight against cancer, one where she will need to travel extensively for tests, treatments, and medical appointments, there are additional burdens to bear. The costs of lodging, food, and gas will quickly accumulate as resources in her area are critically limited and unable to provide the necessary assistance.

I'm determined to alleviate some of Candi's stress so she can concentrate on what truly matters: her health. Every penny raised will initially go towards installing the essential ramps she needs. Following that, any additional funds will be directed towards critical expenses, ensuring she can access her treatments over an hour away from her home - a short distance to most, but an eternity for someone going through chemo and radiation, on top of the cancer effects in addition to.

No gesture is too small. Your support, whether through sharing this message far and wide or by making a donation, will make an immense difference in Candi's life. Each contribution, no matter how modest, is deeply appreciated.

Bless you for considering this appeal, and please remember my sister and her family in your prayers. Your kindness and generosity are gifts beyond measure, and they provide us with hope and strength as we stand by Candi in this fight.

Update 2/23/25

I know it's been a while since my last update but things have been a little crazy which I'm sure you understand. I did have the biopsy on my right lower lobe. Of course, nowadays, the patients get the report before the doctors do so of course I looked at it and got all excited because it said there were no signs of cancer. However, when I did speak to my doctor a few days later during my monthly chemo treatment he said that there's definitely something going on there because the scans all showed activity, that it's possible they biopsied the wrong spot or they just didn't quite get what they needed. So now, since I'm going to be doing a bronchial biopsy on the right upper lobe which showed new spots, they are also going to try and get to the lower lobe doing the bronchial. The surgeon believes that he will have no problem getting to it, so that's great. This is scheduled for March 4th and there's a whole bunch of other appointments in between and after that I will have to travel to Lincoln for. Unfortunately, that means a whole lot of money I don't have for gas and other expenses. I did get a cargo carrier lift for my son's girlfriend's vehicle. My van doesn't have a hitch to use it with and one can't be installed, but I can use hers when I need to. The ramps are stupid expensive, so I'm still working on those. The lift itself is usually incredibly expensive as well, but I was blessed to have found some they were selling incredibly cheap. Because I am likely looking at having to stay in Lincoln during the week for treatments again, I am trying to sell my van and am hoping to raise enough in donations to buy a used SUV with a hitch and better on gas than my van. So I will be raising the donation amount a bit. I don't need nor want anything fancy or even close to a newer year. But I also don't want anything that's junk since it will need to do a lot of traveling and we will be spending quite a bit of time in it.

As far as how I'm physically doing, unsurprisingly I am extremely tired, worn out, and just plain exhausted.  Fortunately I have a lot of friends and family who are more than willing to help.

Mentally and emotionally? Well some moments are rougher than others. I am thankful I have an amazing mental health team who truly cares and do so much to support me.

Prayers are always needed and are appreciated more than anything.

Thank you all and I hope your weekend is going great!

Today I had my biopsy consult. The biopsy itself is scheduled for next week, the 12th, and will be done at a hospital since I'm now on oxygen, have heart issues, and in case my lung collapses again. Last year, I had my first lung biopsy and lung collapse on my older son's birthday, which is also Valentine's Day, two days after this one. Almost deja vu! This time, my mom will be with me instead of my dad, and of course my hubby will be there as well. Not too sure of anyone else, but there will be some notable differences, which I HOPE will ease some of the anxiety and terror. Good Lord! So far, it's not working!!!

Prayers please! 🥺❤️

My cancer doc's assistant called earlier today and said pet scan showed there was one spot they should be able to get to that is viable for a biopsy in the right upper lobe of my lung. This is great news because if theres any mutation, they will be able to know what treatment to use. They should be calling to schedule the biopsy soon. Kinda eerie for me because last year, on Valentine's Day and also my son's birthday, I had my last lung biopsy, and my lung collapsed. So I'm a little - No! Actually - a whole lot of ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED. So I could really use some prayers of support and protection for this specifically.

But for more great news, there were no signs of cancer in my ribs and brain. Liquid biopsy they don't expect results from until maybe the week after Valentine's.

I will update after I know anything more.

Thank you all so much for the donations, shares, good thoughts and kind words, and especially for the prayers.

Eternally grateful,

Candi Noble
