Update Wed. Sept 13th:

Original Post:
Friends and family, thank you for the continued support, concern, love, and prayers for the Kubisky family. It has meant so much to our whole family and I know Mike and Jayden are blessed by your outpouring of care. Any financial help, small or large, will be appreciated and helpful.
As most of you have been updated, late on September 5th, Lilly passed away and is with Jesus now. She was on life support and in a coma and the doctors were unwilling to operate on her as she wouldn't have survived a surgery and wouldn't have had any quality of life. She is at peace with her Heavenly Father and mother now. Mike had emergency heart surgery the morning after the accident and is recovering from that. He has hematoma (brain bruising), 8 fractured ribs, a lumbar spine fracture and heart surgery cuts on the kidneys.
He is making good progress, but has a long way to go to full recovery. Jayden is doing the best he can considering. He was the only involved witness to the aftermath of the accident and will need continued prayer and loving support of which he has already received by his close friends, family and youth group. We know the Lord protected him and we are so grateful he is here, as well as Mike! Memorial arrangements will be relayed once made.
NEED UPDATE: A large gift was given outside of this platform to cover Heather's burial costs and some household expenses. It is advised Mike get representation to navigate the legal side of this situation once the investigation is complete. The family also no longer has a car. In addition, other financial needs are medical-related and other household bills/expenses.
On the evening of Sunday, September 3rd, at approximately 9:25 pm, Mike, Heather, Jayden, and Lilly were in a terrible auto accident on I5, just before their exit from home. As with most Sundays, they spent their day serving at their church, and on this particular day, they didn’t leave until nighttime. Their car abruptly stopped on the 7-lane highway due to low fuel that they were unaware of. Jayden (only 17) was driving his Mazda hatchback, Mike was in the passenger seat, and Heather and Lilly (13 years old) were in the back seat. Jayden was unable to pull the car over in time before the vehicle came to a complete stop and immediately turned the hazard lights on. However, the accident occurred within seconds of stopping. Heather Kubisky lost her life upon rear impact. It’s still hard to believe she is gone. Lilly suffered multiple fractures to her spine, including the neck, has internal brain bleeding, a broken pelvis and jaw, and passed away days later at the hospital. Mike has no recollection of the accident and had multiple rib fractures and a severed artery in his heart from the collision, but was rushed to the hospital to receive life saving measures.
A 24-year-old male driver in a pickup truck didn’t see their stopped car, even with the hazards on. We are currently unsure of the reasons for that. A woman who was first to the scene, and we believe helped save Mike’s life in the moments after the accident, checked on the other driver and he immediately asked for her to tend to our family members. We pray for that young man and are grateful he is physically okay. We also recognize the need for restitution to the remaining family members. The emotional, physical, and financial setbacks due to this tragic accident are immeasurable and will never be fully recovered. The investigator for the collision is doing a thorough job and is immensely saddened by the events that occurred the other night. He will be in contact as soon as the investigation is complete.
Again, thank you all, and on behalf of the Kubisky family and all loved ones (SO MANY), please be careful on the roads. We love you!!
