My name is Katie, and I’m asking for help giving my son the education support he truly needs.
My son has been diagnosed with ADHD, and we are currently in the process of further evaluations for dyslexia and other learning challenges. Over time, we’ve watched him struggle in a traditional classroom setting despite how smart, creative, and hardworking he is. What looks like “falling behind” to others is actually a child working twice as hard just to keep up.
After a lot of research, meetings, and emotional conversations, we found a specialized private school with teachers trained to support children with dyslexia and learning differences. For the first time, we feel hopeful that he could learn in an environment designed for the way his brain works — not one that makes him feel defeated.
The tuition cost is $10,400 per year. We are currently on the waitlist for state scholarship assistance and are next in line for future scholarship opportunities, but we need help covering this first year to secure his place at the school. Once enrolled, we are expected to qualify for scholarship funding in the following school year.
Right now, we need to raise $8,600 to make that possible. Any additional funds raised will be to help get him tested for dyslexia.
We are not asking for luxury or convenience. We are asking for the chance to give our son the tools, confidence, and support he needs to succeed academically and emotionally before he loses faith in himself as a learner.
Every donation — no matter the size — helps move us closer to giving him an education where he can thrive instead of struggle.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to our family.
Thank you for supporting our son’s future and believing in him alongside us.
