Our local high school (Blair) has been heavily impacted by recent ICE arrests with many students losing the breadwinner in their family. For some students, this may mean that they suddenly become head of household and are responsible for younger siblings. Funds raised will go to Blair Unida, a group of teachers and parents, which is helping get impacted students financial assistance. We will also be holding an in-person fundraiser at the Girl and the Vine in Takoma Park on May 13th.
Legal fees to locate and assist a family member who has been detained range between $15,000-$20,000.
High school is hard enough. Please donate!
