Our friends need our help. Clara and Mike joyfully welcomed their first child in early June. However, days before the baby was born, Mike's father died following complications related to a heart attack that occurred several weeks prior. His father was in the hospital for a month before getting released, and dying at home a week later. During this time, Mike and Clara spent their last few weeks of the pregnancy traveling back and forth to Indiana.
While welcoming their newborn into the world and simultaneously grieving this incredibly painful loss, another tragedy struck. Clara's 37 year old sister unexpectedly died two weeks after the baby was born. The reality of this devastating situation will take a long time to sink in.
This all comes just as Mike is transitioning into a new job, and is unable to take any more time off to be at home with Clara and the baby.
