The Russ family, dear friends of mine, have faced unimaginable loss. The recent wildfires in Spokane, Washington, swept through their lives, leaving little behind but ash and heartache. They were forced to leave everything—their home, cherished belongings, and even their beloved family dog. Now, they are with me in Palo Alto, California, safe but starting over from scratch with their three young daughters, ages 3, 8, and 13, who are trying to make sense of it all.
Their current situation is precarious. Although they have a temporary roof over their heads, the essentials are desperately needed—clothing for the girls, everyday necessities, and the emotional space to begin recovering from this trauma. My resources are stretched thin, and I find myself unable to provide all that they need. The Russ family is incredibly resilient, but rebuilding requires a community, and I am reaching out for support. Every bit helps as they navigate this challenging chapter, hoping to find some stability and peace again.
