Let's support one of our own! Dre is a freshman playing football for the Brunswick Dragons. He has had a great year, until Friday night when he started having fairly significant pain in his hand. His mom brought him to the hospital, they took x rays and he was sent home. On Sunday, he went back to the hospital and it was discovered he has an infection in his hand. Dre was given IV antibiotics, and was to follow up with his primary care provider on Monday. His hand continued to worsen, and he ended up being admitted to Maine Medical Center on Monday. Dre is being kept comfortable, on around the clock IV fluids and antibiotics. The doctors are running tests to find out the extent of his infection, and to determine if surgery will be needed.
Mom (Miki aka Micheala) works in the restaurant industry and relies on that income, including tips. She is also having to travel from Brunswick to Portland and back in taking care of her other three children. She has put in a ton of effort for our boys already this year, organizing the bottle drive, making sure numerous boys could get to and from practices, hands out sandwiches to our boys after away games, worked diligently with the Football Boosters Club, and many other tasks. Let's give her back a bit of the love she so freely gives to our boys and our program.
