Urgent Appeal for Support:
A Sudanese Family Struggling Amidst Debt and War
I am a Sudanese expatriate living in the Gulf region since 2014. For years, I was fortunate enough to be in a stable financial position, providing a decent life for my small family and, when it is needed, even extending a helping hand to my extended family back home in Sudan.
However, everything changed with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the lockdown and subsequent preventive measures, I lost my primary job and my side business simultaneously. Without access to government financial aid—which is primarily reserved for citizens—I was forced to exhaust all my life savings just to survive.
When restrictions were finally lifted, I found it impossible to return to my original profession. I had no choice but to rely on my side business as my sole source of income. Despite my relentless efforts to make it sustainable, the challenging economic climate has worked against me. This has led to a crushing accumulation of debt, which has now reached approximately $12,000 USD (Main debt with expenses).
The situation has become even more dire with the outbreak of the civil war in Sudan. My extended family, who could have potentially been my support system, is now displaced across different countries. Returning to Sudan is not an option; it would be a death sentence for my family and me, given the current conflict. At the same time, my mounting debts in my country of residence prevent me from taking any steps to rectify my legal or financial status.
I am reaching out to you today to humbly ask for your assistance in clearing these debts. Your generosity will not only save my immediate family from collapse but will also enable me to support my displaced relatives who have lost everything to war.
We are simply seeking the chance to live with dignity and safety, far from the shadows of conflict and ruin. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in our lives.
Thank you for your empathy and kindness.
