My name is Jay Allyn, I am in a nursing because of severe gouty arthrtis. I cannot stand up or walk. I have been here for 3 years, at a cost of $7,000 a month. I had some money from an inheritance, but i completely ran out in May.
At that time i applied for medicaid. But they say they are backed up because of covid, and after 5 months of waiting, there is no verifiable end in sight. In the meantime the nursing home takes my social security check as payment for rent, and leaves me fifty dollars of it. There are vitamin and mineral supplements that i have been taking for years, that i can no longer afford. On top of which i just found out i have macular degeneration in one eye. I would like too see an eye doctor about it, but without any money or insurance it is not going to happen. Which is why i am asking anyone who reads this to please help with any kind of contribution you can. Even $2-3,000 would get me through the next 3 or 4 months, by which time medicaid would have hopefully kicked in.
