I’m hoping you might be able to help me obtain a specialized walker. I’ve tried a few over the years, but none have been supportive enough for walks or staying active. I use a power wheelchair, which means I need to be transported in an adapted van and can’t drive. I usually arrange transportation around my husband’s work schedule or use public transit, but that’s limited in the area and how often it runs. I’d really love the freedom to just hop in a regular car and go wherever I want. This would make volunteering, going to church, social events, finding part-time work, and seeing family much easier.
The specialized walker I need is called Zeen. It lifts, supports you, uses a belt to keep you safe, and partially unweights you. I need a modified, one-handed version because of my spasticity and weakness, which would help me do the things I want to do and get regular exercise. Sadly, it’s not covered by insurance.
