Just when I thought everything was looking up, life threw me another curveball. As a single mom in Greeley, Colorado, I’ve faced my share of challenges. I’m raising two kids on my own, while three have already left the nest. After losing a job I held for nearly a decade, I struggled with self-worth and finding stable work that fit around my kids' schedules, especially after childcare assistance was frozen. Relying on DoorDash and Instacart just to scrape by, things were finally starting to look up when I secured a position as a reading tutor with AmeriCorps, a role I’m truly excited about starting in mid-August.
But now, my car has broken down right when I need it most to sustain us until my new job begins. Otherwise, I’m left without a way to earn or ensure I can get to work. I've listed items for sale online and explored every avenue I can think of, but time is short. I’m reaching out to ask for any help to get my car fixed so I won't lose the progress I've made. Updates on the repairs and costs will be shared as I receive them. Thank you for considering supporting me and my kids as we navigate this critical time.
