hello everyone! this is my cat apollo. he is a neutered tuxedo 2 year old male. i have had him since he was a kitten. on tuesday 3/14, my partner and i rushed apollo to the emergency vet due to him throwing up blood. we got him there, got him some fluids, dewormer in case of Giardia, (another cat of mine had this recently), and anti nausea medicine. the next day, wednesday 3/15, we took him to his primary vet where they took x-rays and did a lot of blood testing. our vet found out that his kidney levels were so high he could potentially go into kidney failure. they wanted him to come back on 3/16 to do comparison x-rays. we came back on 3/16 where our vet told us that apollo most likely had a substance in his stomach causing his stomach and intestines to swell and kidney levels to keep rising. he has since been back to the vet on friday 3/17, to get more fluids and talk about next steps. our vets next option is surgery. they need to see if they can extract it since he cannot pass it on his own. our vet has quoted us minimum $2,000 and says the price could keep rising if any tissue or organs were dying. my partner and i are trying our best to get our boy the care he needs, we just don’t have the money. we have picked up selling and pawning our things and doing side gigs. our vet says apollo can only last 2 weeks before passing of starvation, meaning our time with him left is about a week. if you’ve read this far i really appreciate you, if anything please just send us good thoughts. thank you.
