I am a mother fighting to bring my babies home after they were taken from me and kept in another state, despite a legal custody order in my favor. The only thing standing between us now is the cost of continuing this fight in court — and I can’t do it alone.
My name is Chelsey, and I am a devoted mother in the middle of the most heartbreaking battle of my life. My children were taken from me and are currently being kept in Virginia by their father — who has not established legal paternity.
In Arkansas, I was granted an ex parte custody order giving me temporary legal custody of my children. I have filed for Virginia to recognize and enforce this order, but the process has been long, complicated, and expensive. Every day that passes is another day I am kept from holding my babies and making sure they are safe.
This is not just a custody dispute — this is about my children being wrongfully withheld from their home. I am fighting for their return through the legal system, but the cost of lawyers, filing fees, travel, and court requirements is overwhelming.
