My name is Nour Albatish, a sociologist from Gaza, and my husband, Mohammed, is an optometrist. Before the war, we worked hard to build a stable and loving life for our family.
We had dreams, a home, and a future we believed in. Today, almost everything we built has been destroyed.
Our home was reduced to rubble during the bombing, and Mohammed lost his clinic—our only source of income. In a single moment, we lost our livelihood, our security, and the place we called home. Since then, we have been living in displacement, struggling every day to survive.
During the war, I was pregnant and forced to endure months of fear, hunger, and uncertainty while living in a tent. The lack of proper food and medical care severely affected my health. I now suffer from malnutrition, weakness, and ongoing health complications caused by months of deprivation.
Recently, I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Lilia. What should have been one of the happiest moments of our lives was overshadowed by hardship and fear. Instead of welcoming her into a safe home, we welcomed her into displacement, scarcity, and uncertainty. As a newborn, she urgently needs proper nutrition, healthcare, diapers, and basic necessities that we are struggling to provide.
Our children are suffering as well:
• Ziad, our 6-year-old son, is battling anemia and requires ongoing treatment, medical follow-up, and nutritious food.
• Julia, our 4-year-old daughter, has lost the safety and stability every child deserves. She dreams of returning to school, playing freely, and living without fear.
• Lilia, our newborn baby, deserves the chance to grow up healthy and safe, but we are struggling to provide even the most basic essentials for her survival.
Every day is a painful struggle. We worry about finding food, medicine, clean water, and shelter. We watch our children grow up surrounded by hardship instead of hope.
We dream of rebuilding a small sense of stability for our family and giving our children the future they deserve. Your support can help us provide:
• Safe Shelter: Rent for a modest and secure place where our children can sleep safely.
• Urgent Healthcare: Medical care for me as I recover from childbirth and malnutrition, treatment for Ziad’s anemia, and healthcare for baby Lilia.
• Nutritious Food: Healthy food for our children and essential nutrition for our newborn baby.
• Baby Supplies: Diapers, clothing, formula when needed, and other necessities for Lilia.
• Education for Julia and Ziad: Helping them return to learning and regain a sense of normal childhood.
• Relocation Costs: If necessary, moving to a safer place where our family can rebuild our lives.
Our story has been verified.
We have lost nearly everything, but we have not lost hope. Every donation, no matter how small, helps provide food, medicine, shelter, and dignity for our children. Every share of our campaign brings us one step closer to safety.
Please help us give Ziad, Julia, and little Lilia a chance for a better future. Share our story, donate if you can, and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
From the depths of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
With gratitude,
Nour, Mohammed, Ziad, Julia, and Baby Lilia
