As some of you have heard, one of our own was involved in a terrible accident yesterday while out riding with her sister. Hilary sustained significant injuries including a badly broken pelvis and sacrum. She spent last night in the trauma center in traction with surgery today to stabilize her pelvis.
If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Hilary, you know she is one of the hardest working, kindest individuals in the horse industry. She has dedicated her life to the comfort and wellbeing of our equine partners and has recently started riding again after a hiatus to raise her beautiful twin daughters. Hilary also has the privilege of being an incredible step mother and wife, and cares for her own retired horses at home.
Hilary has a long road to recovery ahead of her. We all know the sacrifices it takes to be self employed in this industry. You sacrifice health care, benefits, your free time, sometimes family time just to keep a roof over your head. If you are able to help, please consider a donation to help Hilary and her family through this trying time and what promises to be a difficult recovery.
