I never imagined writing something like this.

If you know me, then you know my oldest sister is not just family — she is my confidant, my safe place, my laughter, my mirror, my “ride or die.” She is the backbone of our family…the one who holds everyone together. And right now, we are shattered and desperately in need of our village.

This Thanksgiving, while the world was carving turkeys and giving thanks, my family was thrown into a nightmare we never saw coming.

My sister — a mother of six, a wife, a brand-new LPN working toward her RN, a woman full of dreams, discipline, and purpose — was driving from Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with us.

But she never made it.

Somewhere between the highway and heaven’s mercy, she suffered a catastrophic aortic dissection — the worst medical emergency known to man, one that 90% of people do not survive.

But God…

God kept her alive long enough to pull over at a rest stop.

Long enough for a good Samaritan to notice something was wrong.

Long enough for someone to call 911.

Long enough for her to be airlifted to a trauma center for emergency surgery.

Long enough for us to reach her bedside.

We left our entire Thanksgiving dinner untouched — plates still warm, prayers still in the air.

We left everything on the table except our faith.

We drove three hours in tears, fear, and trembling hope…not knowing if she would still be alive when we arrived.

Since that day, she has undergone multiple life-saving surgeries.

She also suffered a stroke, leaving her entire right side immobile.

She has been placed in a medically induced coma, paralyzed, and surrounded by machines that breathe for her while faith, prayer, and sheer will sustain the rest.

My sister is not just a patient lying in a hospital bed.

She is a caregiver — a woman who has spent over 20 years in healthcare caring for patients just like her. She has survived heartbreak, exhaustion, abuse, long nights, exams, clinicals, and storms most people will never know about. She was fighting her way to the top. She was finally stepping into the life she deserved.

She was doing everything right.

And yet… everything changed in a single moment.

Now she must be relocated from Ohio to Pennsylvania, where she can receive the highest level of care and be close to the family who will advocate for her, love her, and walk with her through what doctors say will be a very long, difficult road ahead.

So today, with humility, with trembling hands, and with tears in my eyes, I am asking for help.

If you love her…

If she has ever touched your life…

If you have ever experienced her quiet strength, her kindness, her loyalty…

If reading this moves your heart even a little…

Please pray. Please share. Please support.

God has kept my sister alive through something most people never survive.

But now we need a village to help her KEEP fighting.

We are raising funds to help cover:

Relocating her across states for life-saving treatment

Rehabilitation and long-term recovery

Support for her two minor children

Travel, meals, and emergency expenses

Airbnb/hotel stays so her children and family can visit and stay close

Household bills she can no longer manage

Anything you give — no matter the amount — is a seed of mercy, love, and hope planted directly into her recovery.

Thank you for standing with us through the hardest season of our lives.

Thank you for lifting her name in prayer.

Thank you for helping us fight for her life.

We believe in miracles because she IS one. 💜🙏🏽
