Hi everyone,
This is incredibly hard for me to write, but I’m doing it because I’ve run out of options and I need help.
I’m currently living in a very dangerous situation. Recently, someone was murdered just two feet from my back door. That alone should’ve shaken everyone — but my landlord never even acknowledged it, and the police didn’t take it seriously. Since then, I haven’t felt safe in my own home. I’m constantly on edge, afraid to leave after dark, and unsure what could happen next.
On top of that, I was recently laid off from my job. I’ve submitted hundreds of applications — literally hundreds — and still haven’t been able to land anything. I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I’m at a breaking point.
I’m trying to raise enough to get somewhere safe, somewhere I can start over — surrounded by support and love, not violence and fear. I’ve made mistakes in the past. I know I’ve burned bridges. I understand that might make this hard to believe. But I’ve got receipts. I’ve got the truth. I’m not looking for pity — just a hand up so I don’t fall back into making money by degrading myself and being filled with shame.
In no way do I want anyone to think this is going towards renting an apartment, condo, house, etc. This is going towards a safe spot with round the clock support or accountability, most likely some sort of half way situation.
If you can donate anything — even just a few dollars — it would make more of a difference than you can imagine. If you can’t donate but know of a job, a lead, a program, or even just have advice — I’m listening. I'm open. I’m desperate to change my life and I can’t do it alone. Due to my spotty past, I am also 💯 willing to provide any and all information with factual information and any proof requested.
