What initially drew me to YWAM Bridges of Life, located in the South of France, was the Justice Acts France ministry that was put on hold in January 2026, a ministry focused on providing education and finding solutions to anti human trafficking efforts. A ministry that needs re-pioneering. It is a type of ministry I feel called to.
With finishing my undergraduate degree, and having many years ahead of me before I can step fully into multi-faith chaplaincy, I opened my hands to the Lord and asked him to guide my steps. If I go into ministry with YWAM, the first requirement would be attending a Discipleship Training School. Luckily for me, YWAM Bridges of Life offers a DTS that focuses on hospitality.
I remember the moments of my life where mentors and friends allowed me a spot at the table. I think back to a specific restorative moment, where I drank tea at the table in my friend’s backyard as she reminded me of how loving it is for God to give us a choice- though pain and trauma had been endured, it was not what the Lord wanted or planned. It was a moment where I learned to trust that He would restore all things back to Himself, and more, I was not alone in the sorrow of my grief. Through this simple conversation, I was able to forgive many and be freed from a lifetime of chronic pain.
Through the hospitality of others, I am shown the love of Jesus. I felt God meet me where I was in the depths of hurt, unforgiveness, and rage; He invited me to a spot at His table where I found belonging and connection with Him, and with those around me. Most importantly, He restored my life.
Having seen the healing and transformative work of Jesus, I wish to partner with Him in sharing that with others, shining the torch of light in the midst of darkness as many have shown to me. I know that God will continue to shape my heart and mind in spiritual care for those who are vulnerable, brokenhearted, and lost. I will provide safe spaces for people in order for truth to be brought to light so that healing can transpire.
There are people waiting in France, and in our outreach country, that have yet to receive the freedom that the beautiful gospel of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection provides. I am excited to share it!
With love and blessings,
Ava :)
