Over the last 21 years as a photographer I've cataloged the triumphs and tragedies of a beautifully conflicted midwestern city. The amazing stories I've witnessed need to be told. The perspective I've had is very similar to the movie "Forest Gump" in that I have witnessed things through the nostalgia of a hometown boy making good, naive to the gravity of the lives and situations ive experienced. A very bitter sweet tale without a happy or sad ending.
I would like to catalogue these stories with interviews of the people and cinematic story telling. I believe student of the arts could be employees and work with industry veterans to learn as they go.
A school and scholarship would sow seeds of hope in the next generation.
