My mama was hospitalized August 11, 2021, and after a long long fight she was discharged home on February 4, 2022. She was diagnosed with respiratory failure and was on a traditional ventilator for 5 weeks and then on a tracheostomy for another 8 weeks. The journey is far from over, but we are really hoping to get support to buy her a portable oxygen system. I've been personally battling it out with insurance and medical companies and this piece has been a hard one to overcome. Portable oxygen will allow her a little more independence which is huge for quality of life.
