On July 13th, Piper developed an acute lameness.
Since then, she has undergone multiple veterinary examinations, a comprehensive lameness evaluation, nerve blocks, bloodwork, and radiographs in an effort to determine the cause. While several potential causes have been ruled out, additional diagnostic testing and specialist evaluations are still needed.
To date, we’ve already incurred approximately $2,000 in out-of-pocket veterinary expenses related to her lameness. Although Piper is insured, her policy is covering only a portion of the costs.
She’s scheduled for additional appointments at a specialty clinic on September 14th and 15th and we’ve received an estimate that a CT scan could cost anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000, depending on what diagnostics and procedures are ultimately recommended.
I’m hoping to raise $3,000 to help offset a portion of these expenses and continue pursuing the diagnostics needed to determine the cause of Piper’s lameness.
