Thank you for your consideration. I am a Christian, Wife, Mother, Service-connected disabled veteran, and Cosmetologist. For the past 11 years I have served the beauty industry in many different capacities. From Haircutting, Coloring, Makeup, Waxing, Weddings, Special events, ETC. This past year I have prayed for the lord to give me guidance as to where I can use my talents and passion in a place that is supportive and conducive to A Christian lifestyle while continuing to helping others. Recently I was presented with an opportunity to start my own salon/spa business that is located within a memory care facility.
During my initial walk-through, it was brought to my attention that the population of memory impaired (Alzheimers, dementia,ETC) is extremely underserved and under represented in the beauty industry. This hit close to home, because of the fact that I am epileptic, and have been in situations where, because of my condition I was not able to receive services in a traditional salon setting. The unfortunate truth is that many of these people, endure, awkward staring, laughing or pointing which makes it completely uncomfortable to go into a traditional salon setting. Also being a mother of two children on the Autism spectrum I have experience first hand and have spoken to many parents that just feel as though there is no comfortable place to take their loved ones for services. This is the wrong answer and these people deserve better!
Salt&Light Wellness will provide beauty and wellness services to clients with memory impairment conditions such as Alzhiemers, and Demetia. Additionally we will be open and available to the public offering a safe and welcoming environment for anyone who for any reason is not able to tolerate reciving services in a traditional salon setting.
Since this is a new business venture I am setting up this campaign to help cover costs of start up such as State, county, State Board, IRS, registrations and licensing. Salon equipment, POS system, Hair color, initial Product inventory, safety equipment, Salon business software/ Hardware, insurance ETC.
All Donations go directly to business start up costs.
