I'm Alix. I'm a queer and trans creator who's been underemployed for years. I currently work three jobs - two as a freelancer and one at a nonprofit.
In recent months, I've been slammed by rising prices and stagnant salaries as well as minimal clients. I'm in a tough spot and would love to get thru the rest of this year with some ease. To tabulate what the money will go to:
$325 - Car Registration: this is necessary to keep getting back and forth to my job so I can tread water
$140 - License Renewal: this is necessary to keep getting back and forth to my job as well
$135 - Car Maintenence: this includes and oil change and a tired rotation. I haven't gotten either in years and I'm worried my car will crap out on me when I need it most.
$400 - Plane Tickets to care for my elderly father. He's a cancer survivor and I want to be there to care for him after a hard won battle.
I know many will ask what I'm doing to offset these costs. Currently, I'm accepting clients for brand design and web design work at a deeply discounted rate. If you'd like more information about my services, pls feel free to email my studio (skyecitystudios@gmail.com).
I am also currently in the market for another full time job and a secondary part time job. I've cut as many expenses as I possibly can and I'm still barely treading water.
I've not gotten many interviews, the job market is brutal. But I will not stop searching until I find something to help.
