8/21/23: My Dad, Captain Bill, made it to Green Bay where he was greeted with so much Aloha from his brothers, niece and nephew. He will be staying with his brother in Menominee MI where they grew up. My Dad said he is "happy as a clam" to be safe and enjoying a bed to sleep on, electricity and a warm shower. He has a long road ahead of him but is grateful to be alive and slowly will recover from what he endured. He is struggling with the trauma.

8/18/23: First and only pics of my Dad, Captain Bill Seidl, since the devastating Lahaina fires that destroyed his house and belongings. Words cant express how incredible it is to see him in this picture. He is standing with Richard and Maxine, who graciously helped locate my Dad and where he has been staying with them on their plot of land in Wailuku in tents. True Ohana and I am forever grateful to them!

Thank you so much to those that contributed to his gofundme and/or shared the page (https://gofund.me/bdc768d8). Not only has it helped him purchase essentials, but has also lifted his spirits as he hears familiar names and is touched by strangers that helped him too. He is still disoriented and not thinking clearly, understandably after all he has endured. He is going to regroup in Menominee, MI at his brothers house. We are so excited for him to escape the island right now and have his family support. I think after the trauma, it will be better for his recovery.

8/14/23:
Aloha Friends and Family...Mahalo to all that have so generously donated to my father and/or shared the link to his gofundme...It is so appreciated!  
I am beyond relieved he is alive and so is he.  As he said "I am one of the lucky ones."  He is still disoriented, coughing up black phlegm.  He is also still staying with his friends on their plot of land in tents.  He is not ready to go anywhere else and does not want to be alone.  He has endured tremendous trauma.  Tomorrow, he will go to the VA medical center and will request a shower and see what other resources they may offer.  I am encouraging him to come here or get housing there.  We are working on FEMA, VA bene's, public housing - it all takes time for him to be processed.  In the meantime, he is glad he is safe and is very grateful for the support.

I thought you may enjoy wonderful memories of my Dad (and also some pics of us in Lahaina) where you may have known him or can see the kind of guy he is (if you are one of the kind people who donated even though you dont know him personally) - simple, caring and an incredibly helpful, hardworking person.   When my Dad visits, the first thing he does is ask for a list of things that need to be done.  Even in his 70's he works all day in the heat fixing things like my dilapidated fence and meticulously cleaning my whole lanai and refrigerator.  He even floored my attic when I lived in Oahu, which allowed me to have much needed storage.  It was hot and he worked like a horse.  He enjoys helping others and being productive.  Meanwhile working, he takes me to Costco and loads me up with hundreds of dollars worth of water, food and diapers (there is a picture here I included).  He is an incredible man who many of you know has quite the personality.  He also enjoys a good Togo, Mickey Lu's and of course a cold PBR.
Many have asked me how they can help since he lost everything in the Lahaina fire.  Please share the link or if you can donate, please do, thank you so much!!
