Three years ago, I had the joy of meeting Florence Ogoke when I married her daughter. From the start, Florence embraced me wholeheartedly, treating me as her own son. Her warmth and compassion have never wavered, and in this time, she has become a beacon of love and strength for our family. Florence, with her unyielding spirit, has made it through so many trials, but now she's facing a medical crisis that we are struggling to handle alone.

Florence has faced serious health challenges over the past few years, including a stroke and the need for a pacemaker. She's now in critical condition at a private hospital in Nigeria, where my wife's family must cover the steep costs every three days. The fear that we won't be able to afford this care looms large, as returning to a government hospital is not an option due to previous denials of care. It's a precarious situation that weighs heavily on us every single day.

Bringing Florence to the United States for treatment has been fraught with challenges, particularly due to current visa restrictions for Nigerians. Despite my yearning to get her the medical care she needs here, these barriers seem insurmountable. I can only imagine how different things might be if access to healthcare weren't tangled up in such complexities. The reality of her situation in Nigeria, with its unreliable healthcare system, is stark and frightening.

Florence's situation is dire, and we are doing everything in our power to support her. The healthcare in Nigeria is not like what we know in the U.S., with most people lacking any form of medical insurance. Each payment feels like a lifeline. Sharing Florence's battle is difficult, but there is also a profound hope that together, we might find a way to give her the chance she deserves.

UPDATE: a few hours after I published this fundraiser, it is with a heavy heart that I must report that my mother-in-law has lost her battle with life! Now this fundraiser has changed from the saving of life, to helping memorialized our mother.

Because of the heavy expense from the hospital that the family has endured, we are still now in need of help for burial of our mother.

Once again, any help would be very much appreciated. If anyone needs to contact me you may contact me at. 901-679-3809 this is also my WhatsApp number and my name is Captain Farris Sr

With all sincerity, thank you from the Ogoke Family and the Farris family.

Within hours of myself setting up this fundraiser, it is with a heavy heart. I must report that my mother-in-law lost her battle with life.

Due to the medical cost that the family endured, I am changing this fundraising from a save of life to helping her be buried to help remove some of the strain of financial responsibilities that the family have endured, and now the added expense of burial for our mother.
