On Easter Sunday 4/5/26, the Reyes family had an unexpected visit to the emergency room. What was supposed to be a quick visit turned into a 6-day hospital stay at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Their 4-year-old son, Legend, was experiencing ear pain, and they noticed a bump behind his ear.
During those 6 days, Legend underwent 2 surgical procedures and was placed under anesthesia 4 times. He was diagnosed with an extremely rare medical condition that only about 5 in 1 million people have, called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. While doctors say it is NOT cancer, it is considered “cancer-like.”
Legend has since had a chest port placed and will require ongoing chemotherapy treatments in the weeks ahead.
If anyone would like to help support the Reyes family through this difficult time by a monetary donation, it would be greatly appreciated. As many of you know, his mom just graduated from nursing school and is awaiting her new grad position, which she will be starting in the next few weeks. In the meantime, dad will need to continue taking time off work to be present for Legend’s treatments. As we can imagine, this brings financial strain.
We are believing in Legend’s miracle and standing firm in our faith, knowing that God is with him every step of the way.
Any support, prayers, or contributions would truly be a blessing to their family during this time.
