Geesh, what do we say?
I guess the best place to start is at the definition of friendship. You can look it up, but the picture that should be in the dictionary as an example of friendship is one of Maria. Many of us have known Maria since elementary, middle school, high school, or from working with her. SHE IS the true definition of friendship. She has done more for her friends in many ways than most of us will ever be able to calculate. In addition to being an amazing friend, she has been the single most hardworking friend that we have ever known. She has work her little Greek butt off in restaurants since she was legal to work. Her work ethic has been unparalleled.
Sometimes, even being the best of a friend and a true hustler, we fall on hard (and sometimes) desperate times.
Maria is facing a very desperate time.
Without getting into specifics, Maria has been out of work and unable to find work for some time now. We all know what happens when that happens - she is facing the reality of being forced to move.
She really needs our help to help her prepare to find a place where she can start anew. Unfortunately, her savings has been depleted and she is in need of financial support so she can get to (literally, as she does not drive) a friends/relatives and begin picking up the pieces.
We CAN lift her up and let her know that we are here for her, that we love and support her. ANY AMOUNT will help!
