On behalf of the Burdette family, we are asking for many prayers for their nephew. Without revealing too many details or putting him in further danger, please consider sharing their story and donating towards getting him back to safety. Ryan and Kayla are desperately fighting for emergency temporary custody of him and are more than willing to endure the consequences of the path they are about to take. It is their understanding that this is going to be a long, difficult, and incredibly expensive process. But they care too much to stand by and watch the system continue to fail him. Their nephew has consistently been put in dangerous situations, homes, and surrounded by people who are unfit to raise a child (let alone be in the same room as them unsupervised). Last year, he was living in their home for 5 months where he thrived. He was fully supported, unconditionally loved, and safe. He attended school every day where he received counseling, was taken to doctors and dentist appointments, participated in sports, and was surrounded by loving family. Very quickly he was ripped from their home. He was taken out of the county where he has been repeatedly put in dangerous situations. They lost all contact with him and it took months for them to narrow down where he may be. Unfortunately, they still do not know his exact whereabouts. They have tried to gain support and sought help from CPS, DSS, the local Sheriff’s Department, and the court system. Sadly, all of these have resulted in roadblocks and dead ends. These obstacles have unfortunately led them to having to hire a family attorney to help bring their nephew back to safety. They will do everything they can possibly do to save him and bring him back to a loving home. Donations will cover lawyer and court costs. Anything remaining will go towards the therapy and medical attention their nephew will certainly need. He needs love and support more than ever right now.
Thank you for all of the prayers and support. As Ryan and Kayla focus their time and energy on navigating their way through this process, we please ask that you respect their privacy during this time.
Sincerely,
Amanda Bonner, Sara D'Elia, Maddie Miller, RuthAnne Salter, Alex Washburn, and Patty Young
