On October 28th, Officer Louie Tukes (badge no. 10889) of the Memphis Police Department attempted to kidnap me while I was dropping my 10-year-old off in the dropoff/pickup line outside her elementary school. There is no other explanation for his behavior and conduct than a kidnapping attempt. Body cam footage I was able to view with my lawyer shows him approaching my car and wordlessly beginning to beat on it while repeatedly trying to open the door of my car and enter my vehicle. The footage, which my lawyer told me she is unable to disseminate and multiple agencies are denying FOIA requests to release to me due to it being an "open investigation," does not show cause for him to approach my vehicle, nor does it contain audio of him ever identifying himself as police or explaining what he was attempting to accomplish. All it shows is him beating on and trying to illegally get into my car, and then later asking a civilian to use their car to block me in and hold me hostage in the area to aid in his abduction attempt.

After I left the area to avoid being kidnapped, Louie Tukes then used my license plate number (captured within the very body cam footage that also captured his assault and attempted abduction) to look up my information then lied to his department and a judge to falsify charges against me and procure a warrant for my arrest under false pretenses. He manufactured every lie he could to retaliate against me for refusing to be kidnapped - claiming I obstructed traffic, sped, and evaded arrest. The deranged criminal and dedicated kidnapper on MPD payroll then stalked me to my home with a fleet of cars containing agents from several city, state, and federal agencies with a battering ram and assault rifles to illegally impound my legally parked and registered car from my driveway and abduct me from my home in the dead of night in front of my 10-year-old, who was also assaulted by MPD in the process. I was held in jail for 3 days without bail before having my bail set at $25,000 despite having no criminal record and have since been forced to appear in court 5 times without so much as a probable cause hearing.

In the meantime, I have lost my job, I have a felony arrest on my record, I had to pay $300 to retrieve my car from the police impound, I have depleted both my savings and all money I had in all accounts, and I have to continue making biweekly payments to a bail bondsmen toward the $25,000 bail that was set for my charges - money I simply do not have.
A reporter for The Institute for Public Service Reporting in Memphis is currently investigating and writing about this criminal violation of me and my rights, was present with me to review the body cam footage with my lawyer that we have both been denied our requests for independent copies of, and described this all as one of the worst instances of police abuse of power she has ever heard of. I am a victim of the predatory and corrupt practices of the Memphis Police Department resulting in false arrest and malicious prosecution and it has ruined my life.

My goal is to raise enough to cover the survival expenses for myself and my daughter, who turned 11 last week in the midst of this madness. Those expenses include rent, utilities, transportation, food, etc. Anything helps, even a share.

Thank you.

Update 2/7: When I created this fundraiser, I was scheduled to be back in court in early January. My lawyer and I viewed the body cam footage in early December after my last court date and discussed filing a motion to dismiss due to the evidence showing Louie Tukes lied about the charges. It was my expectation my case would be thrown out at my next court date. It was not. The state keeps resetting/continuing my hearing for other dates while trying to get Louie Tukes (who ignored a subpoena to appear for my pretrial hearing) to appear to testify to his false allegations despite having video of the incident in their possession. I am being denied due process and in the meantime, I am still falsely charged with a felony and unable to find work.
