Help Carl ❤️
If you’ve spent time around the vintage community, there’s a good chance you know Carl. He’s Devin’s little sidekick and has become something of a mascot at east coast markets — sweet, funny, gentle, and always happy to make a new friend. He loves cats, other dogs, and basically everyone he meets.
Devin met Carl the day after her dad passed away in 2016. Since then, he’s been by her side through a lot of really difficult times and has been her best friend and travel companion for almost ten years.
Unfortunately, Carl has developed a growth on his neck that needs urgent attention. Devin has already been billed $8,000 for diagnostic care, including a CT scan and an attempted biopsy. The biopsy unfortunately failed, and the vet will not reimburse the cost, so Carl now needs to see a new specialist and undergo another biopsy.
They’re hoping the specialist can remove the mass and, at minimum, determine whether the tissue they were able to get is cancerous. From there, Carl may need radiation or other treatment.
Devin needs $8,000 by next week just to get him through this next round of care, and that’s before they even know what treatment he’ll ultimately need. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover Carl’s immediate care and give Devin some breathing room while they figure out what comes next.
If you know Devin and Carl, you know how special they are. If you don’t, just know that Carl is one of those little dogs who somehow manages to make friends everywhere he goes. He’s truly an angel, and right now he needs us to help make sure he can get the care he needs and be treated with the same love and kindness he’s given to everyone around him.
