Jenelle’s Fight Against Cancer: A Call for Support

For years, Jenelle has been a beacon of love, generosity, and care in her community. She has poured her heart into the people around her, whether through her film aura portraits at Auracle, offering spiritual guidance and comfort, or through Well + Proper, where she crafted nourishing organic juices to bring wellness straight to her neighbors' homes. Jenelle is the person who never hesitates to help, the one who stops in her tracks to make sure a lost dog finds its way home, the one who always shows up with an open heart and a helping hand.

Now, Jenelle needs us to show up for her.

Six years ago, she and her two daughters faced unimaginable loss when they lost her long-time partner and the father of her children. And now, Jenelle is facing an even greater battle -- one for her life. She has been diagnosed with endometrial and cervical cancer, and her fight is nothing short of urgent. She needs immediate chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy, followed by surgery this coming May to give her the best chance at survival. The one bright spot in this devastating news is that the cancer has not spread to other organs but the road ahead is long, painful, and expensive.

Like too many in this country, Jenelle was uninsured when she first went to the ER. The medical bills are already piling up, and even now, with Medicaid, many of her essential prescriptions and treatments are not covered. Her naturopathic care, which helps ease the crushing side effects of chemotherapy, is an out-of-pocket cost. On top of that, the everyday struggles of keeping a roof over her family’s head and food on the table have only become more overwhelming. No one fighting for their life should have to worry about keeping the lights on or affording the medicine they need to survive.

This is where we come in.

Jenelle has given so much of herself to her community. Now, it’s our turn to give back. Your donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to her medical expenses, prescriptions, and essential living costs so that she and her daughters can focus on what truly matters: her healing. By contributing, you can help ease the crushing burden on this beautiful family and remind them that they are not alone in this fight.

If Jenelle has ever touched your life with her kindness, her light, or her boundless generosity, please consider donating, sharing, and sending love. Every dollar, every word of encouragement, and every act of support makes a difference.

Let’s support Jenelle, just as she has always been a fierce advocate and support for others. Let’s help her fight and win.

With deep gratitude, thank you for being part of Jenelle’s journey to healing.

Hi friends and family!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve had a tough couple months. I mean several months at this point! LOL.

I’m currently dealing with the aftermath of the effects of radiation and also side effects of immunotherapy now. First present from radiation treatment was radiation cystitis. YAY! Thanks universe. Which is scaring to my bladder, which makes it fairly uncomfortable to pee. Nothing can really be done for it, but an offering of pain meds. Which is a pass for me. I dislike pain meds immensely. So, drinking lots of herbal infusions like marshmallow root tea to help me out.

Then I accidentally fractured my tailbone. I literally just can’t catch a break with my pelvis area. It’s getting better tho, day by day. Thankfully! But damn it was so ouchy.

I had been dealing with extreme fatigue this past month+ and it had to do with immunotherapy taking a hit to my kidneys. Had blood work done last week and was unable to do my immunotherapy this round because my kidneys were in bad shape and pushing them could result in permanent kidney damage in 2-3 weeks. So no thanks. As a result of the kidney kerfuffle/kidney injury sadly they had to cancel my 3 month PET follow-up scan to see how the tumors responded to the overall cancer treatment. They use an high contrast dye in the scan that is radioactive and my kidneys just aren’t in good shape to do it. Everything is kinda up in the air right now while we do testing checking in on my kidneys.

Hoping I’ll get back on track soon and start feeling like a normal person again.

Thanks so much to the few of you that have checked in on me. It means a lot. Navigating cancer alone is challenging to say the least.

Appreciate you 🫶🏼

Love,

Jenelle

Update from Jenelle #3

I have moments now where I'm starting to process these last few months. In the midst of a cancer diagnosis- you just don't have time to think. It's pure survival mode. I'm still in it. My body isn't my own still. My energy is low and my insides still aren't working well and then comes along chemo brain. Which is starting to be super frustrating and actually quite concerning. Wrong words come out of your mouth, even though you know what you wanted to say! They say chemo brain can last up to a year? Excuse me? A year?! No way. I gotta do something about that. It’s an heavy metal overload apparently. Ugh. And I'm fighting an infection where my port is in my chest. It's like my body is rejecting the port itself. If it’s not one thing it’s another. I’ve never had so many bottles of medicine in my possession in my entire life!

I'm wading through this weird kinda grief but it's also mixed with elation that I had access to doctors that are performing their scientific medicine sorcery on my uterus and they were helping kill what was trying to kill me. But, the down side is they can't zero in with chemo- so they kinda take your whole body to the brink in order to save you. Not with out serious side effects.

I still have a long road of ahead of me with immunotherapy infusions every 3 weeks. Then I spend the 3 weeks in between tending to the side effects that it leaves me with.

But, I kinda see the light. I really need to move onto alternative medicine therapy. while I wait to do my next PET Scan. I'd love to to do hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and IV supplement therapy. I really need to boost my white blood cell count. Because being so low is making me take longer to heal the random side effects I'm getting from that immunotherapy. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to start that part of my healing journey. With rent, food, covering prescriptions that at Ernst covered by Medicaid. It’s hard being a human, let alone a human with cancer in this world.

That being said- Thank you to all you sweet beings that have helped get me and my 2 daughters this far! I love youuuuuuuu! There is not a day that goes by that I’m not thinking of all you lovely souls. I’m so blessed.

If you are unable to contribute…. I’d love if you could help amplify this post with friends and family. My girls and I would be forever grateful!

Love,
Jenelle

Update from Jenelle:

Hi friends n’ fam!

I finished 28/28 external radiation sessions of this wild n’ crazy cancer treatment journey. I’m so relieved to be done this part. It really did a number on me right of the gate and then really KICKED my ass the last 3 treatments.

Those that follow me on instagram know that I had surgery last week to prepare for the next chapter in treatment which is the internal brachytherapy. My first brachytherapy radiation appointment did not go smoothly on Friday, due to not being sedated enough 🤦🏻‍♀️ it was traumatizing and I have my second round tomorrow. I’m very nervous to say the least

I’ve just been taking this whole thing one step at a time and truly learning how to just take the hits as they come and championing my way through this literal shit show. There is no stopping, I gotta just keep on keeping on

I appreciate the love and support of those that have reached out to my girls and I. This hasn’t been easy for them either

My girls and I are still in dire need of financial support. I haven’t worked since February and the hospital bills are due soon 😩. Anything helps and we are so grateful if you even can share the fundraiser. Thank youuuuuuu 🫶🏼

(Sorry for the late update)

I honestly haven’t really had the bandwidth to do much but try and rest. In between all these daily Doctor appointments I’m trying to find my footing and find the new routine to this new way of navigating this journey.

So grateful for all you sweet n’ lovely people who have contributed and shared my fundraiser for my girls and I. We appreciate all the healing juju you send our way and definitely feel the love from our community near and far. Feeling so blessed.

Honestly, this fighting cancer thing feels like a full time job. A job that I don’t love and didn’t sign up for. But, I’m rolling with the punches as it takes hits on my body that ebb and flow. I’m taking all the naturopath supplements to help alleviate the crazy side effects of radiation and chemo therapy treatments. One side effect that is so bizarre is “chemo brain” which literally is a bit of a blur. I’ll be forgetful here and there or literally a day later won’t even remember having said something. Which is creepy AF.

Did my 7th radiation treatment today and wrapped up my 2nd chemo appointment yesterday. Kinda nervous if tomorrow is going to hit like last Saturday where I just had to lay in one spot all day until the gross-ness passed, cause the pain being upright was just unimaginable.

Please keep sending all the healing vibes my way. I can sometimes feel my brightness going a lil’ dim cause the constant pain suuuuuuucks the life out of me. Oh! But, one sweet thing at the office I get my chemo at is a lil’ lady rolls through and does reiki on us. And, it’s a sweet few moments that I appreciate immensely during this whole chaotic loopy de loop of journey. What a lil’ earth angel!

Thanks again for the love and I appreciate those of you that keep me in your thoughts! Love youuuuuuuuu
