This is beautiful Luna. She was adopted by a guy who wanted "a white fluffy cat", like so many. He then dumped her only 2 days later at a supermarket with a bowl of food, in May, in UAE, where it's over 40 degrees Celsius at this time.
Reason being that he had taken her to the vet where he had shaved her, and then discovered that she had ringworm. When the vet informed him about the bill, he refused and wanted to abandon the cat there but the vet refused. So he took poor Luna and dumped her outside instead and called Straypaws UAE and told them to get her. Despite having record high bills and many other cases, Straypaws had no choice but to go and rescue her.
They found her hiding under a shed extremely scared and dehydrated with wounds and a horrible mouth ulcer. She hadn't eaten for over 4 days and her immunity was extremely low. Her chance of survival was very slim. But she fought through.
After 2 months at the vet, she started developing a fever and more tests were done to see why she wasn't recovering as expected. It turned out she has FIP.
She is currently at a very good vet being cared for. She's had a very necessary blood transfusion and once she regains her strength she will need to start her GS medication for FIP and also her treatment for ringworm.
Straypaws UAE desperately need help with her case as the bill is already way more than they can handle on their own.
Here is a breakdown: •3 outstanding vet bills of 3,500, 1000 & 4,500 dirham+ •FIP medicine which costs 300 dirham per injection; she needs these painful injections every day for at least 60-70 days. This alone totals over 18,000 dirhams. I have attached the vet bills.
Luna is a fighter and a survivor. She did not deserve to be let down time and time again. Please help us help her get her health back and live the happy life she deserves.
