This is NOT the start to 2026 I was imagining. New year's Eve, Symba was meowing and laying around not feeling great. Within a few hours he deteriorated quickly. He had a full grand mal seizure, and his blood glucose was down to 28. We took him to the emergency vet early on New year's day which is where he spent yesterday, and he has now been transferred to a different emergency practice with a neurologist. The blood sugar has corrected, but he is still having focal seizures, and we don't know why.Ā

Symba is our dearly beloved baby. He has such a giant personality, and is the coolest of cats. This has already cost thousands, and no idea how much more it's going to be. To be honest I wish it was me not him. At least I can communicate and vets are even more expensive than human doctors.Ā

Any help is greatly appreciated, and updates will come as we have them. An MRI is the next step if he is stable enough to have one tomorrow.

It comes from a heavy heart that I have to say that Symba crossed over the rainbow bridge on the 6th. It was the hardest decision that I ever had to make. All I wanted was to help him in every way that I could, but his kidneys and liver started failing. He is gone but will never be forgotten, he had the most personality out of any feline I've ever came across. He was my savannah baby boy and I loved him with everything I had.

Thank you everyone.

Love you Symba.

Symba is improving but still not eating yet. His blood sugar is stable, and he hasn't had any more seizures. Still not ready to come home until he starts eating, but he growled at the vet in protest, so that's a great sign.

Below images are from today and he is much more active.

Also added the previous Heart of Texas invoice from the first few days.

He is currently at Austin Emergency Vet with Specialist.
