My mother has been suffering from some health issues over the years, though lately, she's been feeling weak, faint and experiencing heart issues. While closely communicating with her doctor, she took a turn and is currently in the Cardiac ICU back home with stage 4 heart failure. She's being prepped for surgery and given that there are no complications, once discharged home, she won't have a caregiver. She lives alone primarily and has 2 dogs Ruby & Rose. I'd like to go and be with my mother, take care of her, her dogs and her home.
As a licensed and experienced CNA and caregiver, I'd like the opportunity to fly there and help with everything from cooking, cleaning, administering medications, taking vitals, assisting with daily activities like eating, bathing and getting around, transporting her to appointments, etc. I'm only asking for enough money to cover my flights, groceries and any medications or medical supplies while I'm with her. I'll be booking 2 one-way tickets, 1 to get there immediately and 1 to get back to where I currently live when she's recovered and I'm no longer needed.
I hate that I have to ask for help, unfortunately I'm just not in the position financially to do this alone.
My work is aware of the situation and will give me as much time as I need, though it's not a job with benefits like paid time off or vacation pay.
I just want to be with her and help her, however the road moving forward may look. We are both pretty private people when it comes to personal affairs and so I hope to only share this with those who know me. Thank you 💜
