I'm in the midst of financial insecurity due to employment issues. I was working full time when without notice my hours were drastically reduced first under 30 per week, then 20, then 10.
I took the drastic step of finding a job that pays far less and it's enough to make a living but barely. I have a car loan with five payments totaling $1,500. If I were to pay that off, it would reduce my mandatory spending by 20% which it help immensely. It would give me more money available for unforeseen circumstances, emergencies.
I'm soon to be 61 and plan on retiring next year and if I lose this car, it would leave me no way to travel while living in an area where a vehicle is a must have.
